ICS basics

Recently I’ve listened to a great #whaterfallsecurity podcast about #ICS definitions and in what way IT security distinguishes from IT #security. I remembered that Deloitte’d created a white paper with regard to it.

I would say the main idea of ICS security is to keep employees and material assets safe and sound.

According to Deloitte, it is:

• Human safety is paramount, followed by protection of the process.
• Fault tolerance is essential; even momentary downtime may not be acceptable.
• Major risks can include loss of life, production interruption, product integrity and safety, equipment damage or loss.

If we get right baseline we can build system which will be on the safe side.
